UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSE PRIVATE INVESTIGATION COURSES 2007

Principles of Private Investigation will be held in March 2007 at Nashville and at Knoxville sponsored by the University of Tennessee. Dates are Feb.23,24,25 and March 2,3,4, in Nashville and March 16,17,18, and March 23,24,25 2007in Knoxville.

Principles of Private Investigation

This comprehensive, basic 40-hour course in Private Investigation will facilitate a career in the investigative field and is open to the general public. This program is also designed for the individual in other careers who need to obtain information, e.g. paralegals, legal secretaries, insurance adjusters, attorneys, collection agencies, law enforcement, criminal justice and law students.

This 40-hour Certificate program includes:

• Private investigation as a profession
• Study of federal and state laws as they involve the private investigator
• How to write an investigative report
• Billing and fee collection
• Techniques of surveillance
• Investigation of criminal and civil cases, personal injury, workmen’s compensation, and missing persons, domestics (divorce and child custody investigations), process service, obtaining client information, taking of witness statements, and small office management for investigators
• Techniques of testifying in court, interviewing and taking of statements, and researching public records and computer databases.

The Private Investigator Certificate offers a working knowledge for the individual to practice as a private investigator and issues a certificate of completion upon passing an exam at the conclusion of the 40-hour course. Private Investigation licensure is obtained through the Tennessee Board of Licensing.
